Winter/Life

As sheets of ice lie hidden beneath a blanket of snow - one stiff, one soft - both unforgiving of anyone who might try to stop for a short nap; so ice cicles, thrown like daggers by the wind at the trespassers - those forced by some necessity to duck and run through the skirmish - warn that "winter accepts no surrender and takes no prisoners!" The promise of spring lies frozen and buried in the grave, and mortality often appears as a bleak and endless winter. That's when we must put of ski's or ice skates or snow shoes and move to the rhythm of the season. But beware the frost of complacency - it will numb hearts and minds and bite all the unprotected extremities... until they die. Only those wrapped securely in the warmth of love will survive to bloom in the spring of eternity.
