Imperfect Yet

Man's self control      as fleeting Peregrine pursuing prey      then pray he must      as Joshua      who called the setting sun his course to stay Such discontent      as desert river raging to a fall      so fall he will      in unchanged course      lest on his knees a man to God will call Thus willful pride      displays of violence veneered in vain      the vein contains      until expunged      removed by One so pure He leaves no stain Imperfect yet      as viral colonies consuming crime      men crime beget      for they will not      exchange their downward course for the sublime
