INTO THE DEPTHS INTO THE DEPTHS She is just 66 My age My patient…she looks 20 years older 10 years ago she found her son hanging from a rafter Ever since that day Her life has turned into hell A life of blame A life of retribution Shock treatments and anti depressants haven’t worked She has slid backwards into her own nightmare “I don’t want to go on” she said, “Life for me isn’t worth it.” I told her that she would leave a legacy behind Those close to her will blame themselves She knows I am not giving her a guilt trip “I guess I’m selfish” she went on I didn’t know what else to tell her All the encouragement to stay alive doesn’t work Therapy doesn’t work Maybe her suiciding will For her… |
Additional Notes:
This is a true story. Those of you that have been there will truly understand.
All others will have empathy (I hope). Please understand my dilema of the last lines.
