Doug Shy I can’t say that I knew you friend, In fact I have never seen your face. Never have I held your hand or Laughed with you over coffee. But you were one of us. You were a scribbler of words. And in your stained notebooks We share a connection That needs no words I raise my glass to you dear brother, In silence and in pause. I would like to say that I am contemplating your life, But how do you honor a stranger? But you were one of us. You were a breathing soul.
