What Am I?

All my army, asterisks aside Lined up, laid down on a wide Plate of paper, following rules Heaped and scattered, toddler's tools Assembled now with force of mind Becoming verses so sublime Even Eros would be thrilled To see my twenty-six so tilled

Additional Notes:
Written just for fun! The idea comes from Emily Dickenson, who wrote many wonderful riddle poems of this type. If you have trouble solving this one, just read the first letter of each line downwards!
