IF

If I were a bird To your window I would fly. And every night I'd sing to you  A different lullaby. If I were a flower In your garden I would grow. I'd be the most beautiful flower A big, bright yellow rose. If I were a vineyard No grapes would be as sweet as mine. So that you could wet your lips With the sweetest wine. If I could twinkle from the sky I'd be the perfect star. To light your path forever And shine wherever you are. But I am none of these things  And never will I be. Still I have love and more To offer you for eternity. I could sing to you a lullaby And pick a bright rose bouquet. You could wet your lips with the finest wine And let the sunshine light our way. lora long
