A Wintry Afternoon

Winter has finally come, Stealing quietly through town. Turning the neighborhood white, Where before all was brown. The cats are so content, Cozy and safe from the ice. Dude snores away quietly, While Kitten dreams of mice. Fire glows in the fireplace Smell of coffee in the air, I glance at the snow outside, And work a poem with care. I’m sure that life is great When one strives without relent. But how can it be better Than to be so content?
