The Closet In search of the You know what I opened door after door Found a place to hang my coat A closet in her bedroom Oh dear where can it be One door remained Quietly I turned the handle Oh, it's dark inside I reached in to find a switch Only none was to be found My little hand searched through the air My fingers caught a piece of string I gave a pull expecting the light to shine Instead water came rushing down I found the you know what Thought I broke it for sure Amazed to find the top tank Hanging in mid air Still, I could not resist the sound Of water rushing through the pipes So before the 'old bat' caught me I pulled the string one more time Then closing the door No further sound was heard I found a chair in the corner By the wall off the kitchen door Waited for mom and dad As they visited with the 'old bat' A pet name I believe From all that I have heard I think I'll be good for now I'll just sit here quietly Till its time for me to go (c) claire h. currier 9-16-2002 |
Additional Notes:
punctuation out on purpose...just a fun thing to try as my memory goes into past motions
