Gut and Spindly Legs Suck in that gut cadet! I am your worst nightmare He yelled with spittle running Down his chin Do you love me he bellowed? Yes Sir we thundered in unison! Don’t call me Sir he admonished. Do you see a bar on my lapel? No Sir we thundered again. I am your Drill Sergeant and you Will address me as such – DO YOU UNDERSTAND? Yes Drill Sergeant! 50 years later, this once fit and trim recruit is brought back from his reverie while walking the sunny sand laden beach, as a beautiful young thing passes by. He hears once again the voice of the Drill Sargeant – “SUCK IT UP CADET!” |
