Additional Notes:
Mark's poem 'To be a poem, my son' is absolutely inspirational. Something that must be read mandatorily each morning before gearing up for another fight through a day in the life of ....'life'. James' 'cracks in the tiles and suicides' is a deserving second. The theme was a very delicate one and was handled with dignity. It was a piece I could readily relate with but it could have been tougher reading it had it not been presented with such deft touch. At 3, 'it could have rained...' for me saw James at his most emotonally vulnerable best. Denis, 'char cold' was for me, a desrving 5 and while her poems this month have all been ones where some polishing is required, this piece included, it was very original and she makes a very sincere attempt with imagery, word play while linking it all with an important message...the color - black and white is strong here...this piece has much potential. Nancy is at 8 - with a worthy comparison between the imprisonment of self and tree. I for one felt that shortening the piece and contorlling the flow would enhance her theme and make her imagery a lot nore concentrated in its compactness. Dellena comes in at 9 with subject to. Dellena has always given us some wonderful messages through her pieces and this one had a strong message too.

Char-cold stunned me; because I think it could have been much better - Hope I can keep up with July; I'm so busy; and not feeling well either. blessings, Deni
