Upon Presuming to Advise a Man Mine Elder

This is what I replied to a man sixteen years my senior on his expressed feelings of being failed by religion: As certain as it should be that no man should speak for God (the only blasphemy) no relgion should. Prophets are those few of uncompromised clarity and any religion fears them more than death. To confuse the issue they create false prophets.    But the real thing begs no faith, has no need to assure or validate himself. The power of his words will do that...as it drives the fearful deeper into their weak willed hiding places to leave the brave a less strewn path to truth.    And the prophet's words are in accord with what God has already given any man seeking justice, a burning heart against liars.    Presenting resolve to end their rule.   This, my friend, is why the teaching of poetry is eschewed in this country and a good poet is not able to make a decent living from the practice of his craft.   JCH

Hi JC, very nice of you to comment for Dellena, her illness & hospital stay. She will be on my prayer list, every night - The dedication has great intentions, and a heart big enough to share thoughts and feelings. Religion is always "Unknown" territory to all in speaking of it, yet at the same time, we do speak of it often, which makes it - a well known topic, just not a well studied topic. It's like leeping into the dark, and hoping to find what you need to sustain your individual needs, and use the power it gives you - to govern your life. Not to worry about what others say, as long as you feel it's right. Blessings, Deni
