Golden Leaves in Crimson Hands (Part III)

III.  The golden leaves crumble In crimson hands And fall to the earth  To be lost again Among the hundreds Of frozen lives Bearing witness To keep her alive Each separate one Encapsulated Held in place No time no space But if she chooses To let dawn in The light, its warmth Renews again And drip by drip  They come alive And dance they do Upon the wind While they hold fast Till each story’s last Final words are duly cast Each part together The truth is known A whole is created She is not alone

Once again, I see your series as an allegory for both the internal and external conflicts; with secondary images provided by the passing of time and seasons. The discovery that "she is not alone"- reminds me a great deal (this entire part III, if you will) of John Powells books, "why am I afraid to love", and "why am I afraid to tell you who I am". Both of these books by a brilliant theologian and psycologist, affected me when I was young and insecure. I like this piece. Its lead on the newspaper front page would be your line "while they hold fast" and then "each part together". A fine trilogy. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Mandie, I am glad you ended this series of poems on an uplifting note. It shows that no matter the grief, no matter the sorrow, no matter the regret this poet knows she is not alone. You have just enough rhyme, here and there to give this piece its charm and appeal. I have always believed that writing our feelings down is a catharsis at least it is for me. These three poems are wonderfully done and I hope to read more from your talented pen. Best wishes, cheyenne
