"Off To See The World such A Lovely World To See" Pink rosebud "Rosenthal" china safely shipped home from countryside with clean streets, feisty women fought over horse manure a natural garden to ensure. Savoring bakery scents linger for the best baked goods to tiny pubs serving warm beer Wiener schnitzel, sugar cubes to drop for tea or coffee with a landscape more beautiful in its complete entirety From mountains to the Rhine River up to Bavaria where dress was festive in multicolored vests Historical castles echoed voices or tiny steps in patent leather shoes impressionable age fully happy youth. A divine place to live wishing it could have been more as much as a lifetime. Mom labored as Dad dressed in fatigues we were a family in a different league. Music, comic books and clubs to attend meeting friends of all ethnicity; four years in all with no family TV. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Way Up High Across The Atlantic Ocean~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We Go Home bound with souvenir’s in place starting over seemed commonplace mother made Thanksgiving dinner every year we ate sitting down like royals dining off of china plates. Memories of traditions long gone for now a grateful heart wanders to cherish to never forget one very special part which lives on in my sentimental heart I softly hum our favorite song See where I danced with my father tiny feet making tender roots up on his strong black polished Army Boots. |

I am pretty sure the song you danced to was something from the sound of music. Such a lovely poem to read on a Sunday morning. I liked how you split the poem in the middle to take us else where on this journey. Clever.
