Live On

Our rising star needed to be free Yet will glow with memories Our friend now goes to a quiet place Distinguish and cherished  Revealing love with truth. Our star unfettered Sparkling with zeal Let the world behold and truly know She will be missed with much grace Revealing love along with truth. Shine oh shine and watch us close Shimmering, glowing, affection for all Warm reminiscences, ours to uphold. Luminescent and joyful We will miss you so Live on and on within our hearts Shadowing us with your soul.

Debbie, While I did not know Jo, I joined after she'd become inactive, however from your well structured exquistedly penned poem I have been given a sense of a wonderful person whom I'm not going to have the opportunity to know. You have given your friend and fellow poet a great tribute. Thank you for offering this poem and sharing your thoughts and sentiments with us so that we might all know Jo through your vision and your talented pen. Best always, Lora

Debbie–This saddens me. I didn’t know she had passed. I remember her as; Joyful and Outgoing, she Made Our Reviews and readings Gainful. Angelic, she’s Now with the creator. Your elegy/tribute is heartfelt and IMHO, quite representative of the senti- ments shared by fellow TPLers. Thanks for posting this bittersweet offering.TLW

Debbie, tributes are a product of desire and destiny. The best part of yours, was the remembrance attached to the name. It has been a while since it was spoken here, and probably, in all fairness, too long since it was revered. I like your title. It is what I hope for myself, “live on”, and on. It takes somebody like you, and others, to make a dream like that become meaningful. “Revealing love with Truth”. The sentience of the passed spirit, that there might be the “shining” on those who remain- and particularly on those who fulfill the dreams of the living soul, is a wonderful thought. It causes me to look over my shoulder, and watch for my dad, or my friend Marilyn, or brother Edward, or sister Stacy- Thank you for bringing the “unfettered” into the future, as dreams should always reach.

Dear Debbie, This is such a lovely tribute to Jo Mo that it brought mist to my eyes. You have done a masterful job of praising this remarkable woman but more than that you have painted, with your words, that she is in a wonderful place. Yes...she is free of this world and free of the pain that encumbered her in the last years of her life. I think I speak for all of us when I say she is so very missed by her TPL family. I think I told you my one sorrow was that I never had the opportunity to meet her in person, as you did. Lovely poem, with wonderful word choices...well done! Love...Marilyn

Debbie: What a meaningful and tender tribute to our beloved Jo Morgan. I know that you were especially close, and met in ‘real time.’ This is an example of the way that poetry can change things. You wrote yours, she responded; she wrote hers, you responded. She critiqued nearly every poem for a very long time. She referred to herself as a ‘gut critiquer’ but I would characterize her as a ‘heart critiquer.’ The support and encouragement for our writing and lives given by Jo will never be forgotten. Your poem will also introduce her to those who may not have met her in her last months. Indeed, she was “our star” and one who was generous with “revealing love along with truth.” I especially appreciate your closing stanza, as I feel her ‘presence’ here, too, and that she is aware of many of us with whom she was especially close. Luminescent and joyful We will miss you so Live on and on within our hearts Shadowing us with your soul. Thank you for this. It goes on my list! Beautiful! With love, Joanne

Hi Debbie, The news of Jo's parting deeply saddened me. She was a staunch pillar of support when I first stepped in here, both personally and professionaly. I was going through a lot at the time and confided in her a great deal. Your tribute befits a person of her calibre....only good human beings are able to live on as immortals and transcend the physics of life into the realm of spirituality. Those who are selfish and corrupt wither away with their bodies. Your poem speaks of an individual who will shine on like a star and who will be ever so missed. I am honored to be part of a community of people who serve as beacons of inspiration and you are one of them too, Debbie. The hardships you have endured in life make my own seem like a walk in the park even as I gather courage and consolation from your victory over them. Thankyou for this tribute and also for being the good human being that you are. I will not critique this poem as it transcends poetry and art but simply offer this as a sharing of my own thoughts on the importance of humanity. Do keep in touch. Take care, Duane.
