I just want to say " I love ThePoeticLink ". It's been awhile since I was in school so I'm sure there's alot of things I've forgotten. ThePoeticLink has shown me mistakes I've made in my writing and they have given me great advice on how to correct them. I started writing poetry a couple of months ago, as you see I am very new at this. It's something I enjoy very much. With the help from ThePoeticLink, I can do what I love, Better. Thanks and keep up the good work. I Love This Site!

I was lost, stumbling down cybers webbed highways. A hook, [1000.00 FRIST PRIZE] drew me in and would have held my soul, butI was able to slip away. THE POETIC LINK what a light, to you webmaster---creator. PS. I can not belive the thrill of reading a critique trashed on praised,- unreal.

I was dubious at first concerning the requirement of a submission fee of $3.00 for each poem submitted, after all Poetry.com offered to accept poems free. I also received notification from Poetry.com, with regard to my poem "Grand-Meme's Love", which to tell the truth I didn't have any idea if it had merit. After contacting Christopher Moore, and receiving the help he extended, I became convinced, and have submitted to "The Poetic Link.com. It has turned out to be very exciting for me in that right after my first entry I received a critique. What Brenda critiqued was most helpful to me, it was forthright and honest, and pointed out different aspect of my writing that will be most helpful in future endevors, as an English Teacher she certainly has an experience that some may never attain. By the time I logged off I had received five critiques, and was truly amazed. I ate up each word, for I certainly want to express myself in the best possible way, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their help. No doubt I will return time and again, the fee for each poem can't even begin to pay for what I gleened from this very special website.

I am writing you because this is the very first time I have come in contact with your site.I have just read your attack against the nlp,aka the ilp,aka poetry.com.IT'S TRUE!I have suspected for quite some time tahat this was a scam, and I will tell you why...6 years ago I submitted 23 poems to these people by mail when I read about them in the back of rolling stone. These people who will only publish ONE entry per month. They published three....In TWO different "anthologies"Two in one..Do you see?I know you do.Not good poems, really, one was actually a not so vague oral innuendo.$60 for each one published!I was not drawn for the simple fact that I was broke.Anyway, skip to today. Not only are they offering me their new anthology for 60 dollars, but they say I am soooo good they want to make a c.d. of 33 spoken poems and I will only have to send them,I believe it was,70 some odd dollars.Luckily my ego and my wallet are of similar sizes(that being quite small)and I was not quite falling for it.And then I see your excellent website. My suspicions are finally proven to be true!Unfortunately I submitted yet another poem today and cannot complete your challenge to defame them at the present time..But mark my words,I will! And on top of that I will enjoy it!I also know I was never sent any kind of prize.Perhaps i did not deserve one.But in lieu of what I have read on your site I have to wonder if anyone has EVER recieved any kind of prize whatsoever.Considering you have to pay for anything they offer, certainly they do not consider that a prize.Or do they?I can print my poem on a plaque quite cheaply without their help, and the same goes for a mug or anything else they offer. And I can surely,in this day and age, record myself reading not one,but MANY of my own poems on c.d. or cassette, and guarantee they will be read correctly. And it won't cost me SEVENTY DOLLARS,either. And I won't be paying to hear 32 other poems by people I don't know, read by people that they don't know.Anyway...I don't know.It all seems like such a shame. But thank you for calling attention to this disgusting charade.I hope every one who has ever submitted a poem to those crooks somehow makes their way over here at some point.Put them out of business,Mr.Moore.For all of our sakes. With much gratitude, Nathan Eugene Phillips

Dear fellow writers: What a wondrous thing this linking of voices can be. Dialogue about the writing, can be (and often is) rich and fruitfull. This is how word-crafting grows for everyone, more and more into that all-accomplishing magic we call poetry. So---the site provides a tree, from which we all flower, more deeply. In this dialogue, from writer to fellow writer, it is all-important that we all honour the reading of our work ( and thoughtful consideration, in the form of critiques) in the same way a reder honour's the poem, by critiquing. In that sense, I'm going to go out on a limb, just to remind writers that every critique deserves a reply. Even two words, if that's all it seems to warrent. Part of the reply process is set up (and well-designed too, by the webmaster) to help not only encourage ongoing helpful dialogue, but to allow critiquers to achieve a fair rating, that reflects their efforts. In the process, writers also help themselves, with further poem points--- so this system works to everyone's benefit. It is wonderful, for readers to be allowed the opportunity to contribute to poetry, hopefully with good suggestions, and feedback, but the process is scuttled, when writers do not reply to critiquers, and rate their critiques. It just comes down to consideration of time and efforts, on everyone's part. And, it's impossible to know what use one's comments or readings are, without any feedback from the poems' writers. I am personally in a vacuum, awaiting replies on twenty or so poems, I've critiqued. If you haven't responded to a critiquer, please consider doing so. Even if the critique was not 'inspiring', you would still have the opportunity to say so. And--you would keep the aliveness in this link Alive. With respectful regards to all--readers and writers alike. Thanks.

To all the newcomers that read this: I must admit to being surprised at how great a site this really is. Real services are provided and many more opportunities are available here than anywhere else I have seen. Though at first the money involved in submiting poems made me hesitate, and many other sites are free, I truly believe that registering at this site is worthwhile. Not only will this site guarantee me actual feedback, but also it gives the option to comment on others' work by sending it straight to an e-mail account to be read at your convenience.

Well Chris - I believe to be the site architect - what a pleasure it has been to stumble onto this site. The opportunity to improve poetry from multitudes of budding poets is an opportunity far too good to be missed. Thank you for your considerable effort in creating this opportunity for the poetic world. Cheers, Corri
