Happy Easter Monday, everyone! All is not bells and gilded here in Ontario, this overcast day,(as it usually is Easter Monday)and of course, elsewhere in the world--not nearly! nevertheless, Birds are alighting, buds arising, and even on this less than sun-spilled day, the wish in the air, is that we All feel somehow newly-risen, and gracefully blessed. For we can share, speak into the sky, and aspire to make the world smaller through being 'online'. Good things all. Happy spring-ing. Alison

I just really wanted to say how much I enjoy being a member of The Poetic Link. For the first time, I have the opportunity to have my poetry critiqued. I also get to be the critiquer for the first time. As some of you may have already found out, I'm a better poet than a critiquer, but I'm working on that. Thanks so much for the opportunity to not only share but to improve my poetry.

This is an amazing site. What Chris offers is the opportunity to read AND be read, and then to discuss. It doesn't matter how good (or how bad) my poetry is, if it remains in a vacuum, it serves no purpose. Poets need to reach out, and touch! I feel as though I have joined a very special community. Thanks!--Carole

Chris has worked for years on the evolution of ThePoeticLink, but tomorrow marks the FIRST ANNIVERSARY of the current PoeticLink database, ThePoeticLink as we know and love it! Congratulations on a phenomenal year, Chris! Over 4000 poems and almost 76,000 critiques later, your brainchild continues to evolve, grow, and touch the lives and hearts of people all over the world. Your creativity and hard work have brought all of us together in an inspirational place. You amaze me! Thank you, and Happy Birthday! One year ago this month I first posted a poem to this site and it changed my life. Hardly a day goes by that I am not 'on the link.' I remember so many of my earliest friends with whom I’ve lost touch. Thelma, Donna, Mandy, Victor, Karen, Gene, even Tom, where are you? How are you? They all helped me to find poetry inside of me and I miss them. (Tonight I even miss 55555555555!) Names might eventually slip my mind, but I will never forget the fun that we shared. Tonight I’ll go back and read some of their poems and critiques that I have saved. It will be like visiting old friends. I’m glad to still be kicking around here. Happy Birthday, PoeticLink! Regina Heller

This Link is like a lifeline to me; critiquing your poems has become a major source of inspiration and joy. But I must advise that I have just lost my entire computer file system owing to a major worm virus attack within the past two days, so if anyone has emailed me and is expecting my reply, all is gone. Every file was infected and none can be transferred. My new drive will be delivered shortly but is empty. Folks, if your antivirus software isn't operational or updated, please, please correct this! These viruses spread without the knowledge of the person who passes them on and they are devastating. Some come directly from web pages. ICQ is also a prime source. Because we're so chatty here, writing back and forth and visiting each other's links and sites, we're especially vulnerable. Anyone whom I have emailed recently should take particular note of my message. I may have been an inadvertent bearer of very bad news. Take care! Brenda

The Link is a miracle and a joy. I continue to thrive and grow here. Feedback to my critiques is always a special delight. I do want to issue an advisory to critquers, however. Please be aware that spelling variants to words listed on SpellCheck.Net - or on your computer's Spell Check system - do exist. For those of us who are of Canadian or British origin, which would encompass those educated in such systems in a wide range of countries, correct spelling is not always the US style and should not be penalized. For example: honour [and other -or endings], fulfilment, judgment, defence, licence, cheque, no-one. If critiquers are scoring writers who use these variants below others who don't, this is hardly a fair assessment. Lately, I've read critiques in which someone has been advised of a needed spelling correction when, in fact, the poet's version was absolutely correct. I'd suggest reference to a good dictionary, which usually identifies regional or national differences, rather than to an online source, which probably does not. Thanks! Brenda

Just wanted to mention how much I apprecaite this site. Even though My own interaction with it is three days old, it has already helped me polish up several poems with the time-spent thoughtful comments that fellow poets have given. And each one (each one of everyones work) is commented on by others within the hour in most cases it seems, just great. The level of interaction here is admirable. I especailly enjoy the incentive to crituqe and reply to the crituqer. It certainly goes a long way to honing all of our poetic and analytical skills. Let's keep this place A-humming! TCR

Hey ! The TPL has helped me to feel like I have really opened the world to my words of wisdom, wit, insite and love! That has been so long in just a note book! No longer does my thoughts relay to paper just lay behind closed covers and doors! This sight is like the writing golden gates! For the people that make it up. Witch are the users! Be writer or reader both find what they seek! Upon my first visit I found in my self the feelings of bonding!! WOW! I had only dreamed of a place. That we the people as one entering into a web with fullfiling dreams! No scheme's ,false scream's or undone dreams ! Only in all the words forming the wisdom and wit. With any emotion, No ruckus over the comunication! Just all the compassion of companion and comradeship of us that love to do what this sight is all about! MICHAEL L. CHICK
