It's "Just Another Love Song"

You've shared your heart and bore your soul I realize all your dreams but I don't know ''who' you are or if you're what you seem. ~~~~~~ You "play your charade" ever so well and querry me "how deep is your love"? I know what to do when "I need a friend" but baby, "you're so vain". ~~~~~~~ "Mama tried" to teach me to "stand by your man" but it's not a "honkey tonk hero" that I want. You're after "wine, women, and song" but baby "it aint me". ~~~~~~ I "never go 'round mirrors" anymore I hang out "behind closed doors" The "city lights" have taken me, I've "gone out of my mind" ~~~~~ I want a "new world in the morning" I want an "unchained melody" "All I have to do is dream" cause "the lion sleeps tonight". ~~~~~~ "By the time I get to Phoenix" "I'll send in the clowns" so you will see that "I'm leaving" or notice that "I'm gone". ~~~~~ So "for the good times" baby put some "wind beneath my wings" you'll lay down a "lonesome cowboy" cause "I've got alot of living to do" and  "A brand new song to sing"

Additional Notes:
This piece is made up from song titles. My poem is not necessarily related to the music-but only to the titles. I started to list the musicians, but decided against it. This really could have gone on and on...I'm having so much fun with it! Let me know what you think! (PS. I made the whole thing up-don't really know this guy)

Ellen, What a energetic work, and how clever an idea. OMG, I'm probably dating myself but I recognize your song titles. I can not find a nit with this work, it is so creative and imaginative. I will not endeavor to pick a line or two out as favorites for I like them all. Two roses for you! Best always, Lora

Hi Ellen....It was obvious to me that you were using song titles or phrases of songs before I read your notes and I thought how creative you are! Even if you didn't mean to be this piece is very musical and the words have an easy flow which makes it a pleasure to read. This is so clever and innovative and I know you must have spent a lot of time writing it. I have no suggestions for improvement as, to me, it is already perfection. Well written poem that is an unusual and compelling read. Well done. blessings...Marilyn

Hi there Ellen, I really enjoyed this piece. It is my first encounter to a poem has the style of yours forming the thoughts through titles of several songs. And even in the title it's a song! Crafted very well. The songs that I commonly hear from my favorite FM radio are "how deep is your love"?, "I need a friend", "unchained melody" and "wind beneath my wings" - and I like them very much! By the way, I always appreciate a theme about love or courting or the like maybe because I am in my 20's and courting and everything about that is still fresh in my mind although I have my own family already. <smile> Thanks for sharing this! Indeed, this is a fun and so much enjoyed. Jordan

Dear Ellen, You've really used a lot of imagination with this one. It's a fun read, in picking out all the song titles you've included. The message being sent is clearly stated. A soured relationship, and she is vocalizing her disapproval, as well as her hope to move on. The fact that you wove song titles, through this, to achieve the message is what makes this poem stand out. Very clever, and well worth the read. Hope exists in the last two lines of your poem " I've got alot of living to do", and "A brand new song to sing". - the part of emotional healing necessary to get over someone, and on to better times. Good write. Sincerely, Denimari
