Oscars

Fiercely neon, feeding frenzy, coloring moods                                  fantastically. The Oscar takes his lady precipitously. In a tug-of-war, lip upon lip, tenaciously. To die instantly, at any sign of one weaker        than the other             mercilessly.  Their cradle of life unforgivingly                                 unencumbered By rejects housing less nobly aspired                   than the last. What it is to be Oscar, earned from the start                     decidedly unobtstruent           to evolution.     Non-redundantly.

Dear James, I've read this a few times now, before commenting. It's a solid piece, noted imagery of the life of an oscar, but seemingly less visual of what I'm used to reading of yours. I also got hung up a bit, with all the words ending in "ly", which you've used a lot of in this poem. Was that your intent? There are a few standout lines: To die instantly, at any sign of one weaker than the other mercilessly. Their cradle of life unforgivingly unencumbered These two lines, definitely bring inspiration to the reader. sincerely, Denimari

James, Quite a unique way of viewing the Oscar event....and now we have the Emmy's. Personally I feel they are all pomp and pretense, well you've really put the events in a proper perspective... I don't view them anymore, I never agree with the decissions and feel that some really note worthy people of the craft are overlooked. I enjoyed this , it made me exercise my mind...a write that will stick with me for some time. Just wanted to let you know that I'd been here and read your work. Best always, Lora

James, Oscars, another way to promote movies. Making more money. Making bigger than life stars/making more money for their work. It's cut-throat crap! Noble aspiration, it's not. Now give an Oscar to one of our true heroes. The quiet man living honorably, affecting those he touches, teaching by his example. Not in todays society. obtstruent/obstruent ? And the Oscar goes to.............you! Dellena
