Heresy, Terrorism and What Won't Bounce

The time of man on earth can be counted as are the beads of a rosary,      passing one little grain of sand at a time through Faith's hour glass. The pain deceived into numbness that our deeds are not deposited                                                 in the blood of others. The instrument of our self-deceit is the labor we impose on words,      twisting them into dangling moments of apprehension to empty them                                              of precision.                        But we lose the revelation too. Trading God's Blessings for the blasphemed power of speaking for                                             Him.

Additional Notes:
The full title of this is, Heresy, Terrorism and What Won't Bounce Off the Ground From Ten Thousand Feet Up. What provoked this, more than anything else, is the President of Iran admittedly purging the Universities in his nation of "secular" professors. That means, to be brief, of any without his mindset. To be accurate with the language, the word university should then be changed to, hatchery.

Hi James....many wisdoms in this poem. Comparing our time on earth with beads of a rosary and passing one grain of sand at a time through faith's hour glass is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that? Your talent far surpasses that of anyone else currently posting here. The remaining lines of your poem are superb, as well and even though you wrote it due to actions of the President of Iran it could apply to so many other things...making it timeless. I am wondering how much longer TPL can hang on until Chris pulls the plug? Only 8 poems have been posted and it is almost the middle of the month and so few critiques...hardly makes it worth the effort. Anyway thanks for this poem. I hope you are posting your work on other sites as you should have a large audience. Cheers....Marilyn

James, "Trading God's Blessings for the blasphemed power of speaking for him." Thus we must have a priest/preacher be our intermediator to speak to God in our behalf! And then telling us back God's position...... And we fall for it...thus giving the clergy and churches a job/business. Man's mind is twisted into living lives full of apprehension. We live valuless scared pathetic lives. We're [me] so frightened of everything we become paralyzed ineffectuals. And hatchery is perfect wording because we are like clones all the same. eggs being hatched for government purpose? A whole lot won't bounce off the ground from the high up! I like your always thought provoking every word. Dellena
