Mothmen

Between second and third base, a zone exists,    a place of "no going back". For if you try, a throw is made and a gloved    hand places a ball neatly   upon            a hope of things to come.  You can guess, so much to see that's unseen...    at least by you or me. Black budgets, papers released with blotted     marks that did not make the ink go away.  While the telling is just another question.  In between all this Mothmen exist,  clinging to time just to persist. Owning no particular means or form,    they ride them all, like leaves upon a storm. Where they are comes and goes     and it takes so long to suppose They're even there. Though if you know    just where to go I'll give you one    just like a parrot To ride your shoulder.

Hey JCH....I remember seeing a scarey movie about mothmen a very long time ago. I remember the term "mothmen" but nothing else about the movie. When I was 5 years old my cousin, who was 8, took me to see a Frankenstein movie. I was so terrified that I watched it through the button hole of my coat! Now why in heavens name do I remember that? Better get out your therapist costume and chain saw because I think I need help. There is an undertow of meaning in this poem but I am going to stick with the Mothmen! Your reference to the parrot on the shoulder, in your last line, makes me remember The Pink Panther movie where Peter Sellers put on a peg leg and a parrot on his shoulder. Just thinking of that movie makes me laugh! Happy Halloweeney....mt

Hmmmm....you got me...I don't know who the Mothmen are-unless they are the silent observers who wait for the moment when money falls! The pirates who eat the passions of the game and trade them for their own profit.... Only one line that doesn't fit.. they ride them all, like leaves upon a storm. I don't know, a bit trite in the middle of all the unknown....just a thought. I'm hoping you are going to tell me just what these characters are! Good work really. Deeper than this eye can see, but it is intriging!
