Everything Is

Without ugliness, there is no beauty    without beauty, there is no ugliness If there isn't happiness, there is no sorrow    if no sorrow, there isn't happiness Is there emptiness, without fullness?    or fullness, without emptiness? What about loneliness, without togetherness    or togetherness, without loneliness. We have none of these, unless we have one of these    without one, we have none Love is a combination, of all the emotions    and you enact them, not only in motions One can be silent, yet say a lot    one can be peaceful, but inside very hot Never doubt, one's feelings    for some things, are just the peelings.

Hello Thomas, Is there some reason for the outpouring of all the poems? Are you using up credits, or just showing a body of work? In a way, all of these poems present a questioning search for answers about relationships with the world and people..."like what does it all mean"? I chose this poem to comment on, because it ends with the most original lines of them all - "Never doubt, one's feelings for some things, are just the peelings." The theme of duality is very interesting. Some have said there are really no opposites, there are just things unlike the other, there are no synonyms, just words that kinda share an umbrella. The word 'love' to me through is the biggest synonym of all -it is only the sum of qualities assigned to it by each individual differently; i.e. similar to. "A combination of all the emotions' and often, even less then that. Or more. You said the poem was written in Viet Nam. The extremes must have been stark. Terry

a most difficult time for certain when the world itself was so up and down, turned around, filled with so many emotions, fear, hopes, despair, where is the peace we searched for during those difficult years and what indeed has happened to the brave men and women who served their country well.........still, answers left unfilled, lives turned upside down, in and out, friends and families torn apart and you have penned it all, My husband and I lost many friends in this war and those that did return are still in a struggle of their own personal hell..........you can be surrounded by thousands and still be alone my friend as you well know..........and you can be alone and feel the love of family and friends surrounding you where ever you may go. Sorry to ramble my friend. Well presented, feelings from the heart to be shared with others for sure. God Bless, Claire
