Hurricane Zone Hurricane Zone
See me
I am naked to the world today
As all has been stripped away
Within hours my life is gone
I need the strength to carry on
Hear me
As I cry out loud
One in hundreds
of this homeless crowd
Within days
my life torn to shreds
Nowhere for us
to lay our tired heads
Feel me
As this could be you
Mother Nature takes charge
of what we do
The human element
of our lives is spent
We are lost inside
of this tragic event
Touch me
As I live in pain
So much lost
it seems insane
Doors closed
to my constant plea
Bow your heads
and pray for me
Show me
That your love is near
Or I should die
inside my fear
Within minutes
I stood alone
Among so many
in this hurricane zone |

DeniMari,
I think this shows the hurricane that hit your life turning everything upside down!
Everything changes and with it your outlook. God seems the only help.
If not for spirituality we qwould be lost.
You show your sorrow and emotion well in this well named poem.
Good job,
Dellena

Deni,
The rhyme and cadance of this write is spot on as you have so eloquently spoke from the heart of the plight that befalls all of sudden disaster...how tragic, how helpless this leave us in wanting to reach out and help and not knowing where or if our help will ever reach those who need it.

Well presented read poet, one that allows the reader to see and feel what you are going through ....my prayers are with you and all who face such disasters.......I know my sister and her family were in a region of warnings last night for tornados..... Here in New England we seem to have snow storms, once in awhile hurricanes and perhaps a little earth tremor.....when they put up warnings it frightens even the calmest of hearts.......I enjoyed how you used the senses to bring out your read. Stay warm, dry and above all safe. God Bless, Claire
