Our Story

Two hundred pages and then some more A year in emails opened hearts’ doors To witness in each, one’s afflictions To release, let go, our restrictions Some were short and some were long Some fit in and some don’t belong But three stories told throughout the year Three lives were changed forever clear Of troubles, toils, sorrow and loss Lessons learned at pricey costs One has died since that time She watches over yours and mine As we continue down this path The journey heals with hopes to last

A pleasing easy to read poem done in couplets with good rhyme that does not seem at all forced was a pleasure to read. You've said so much in so few words--taken from the start to the end-like a journal. Very nicely done, no nits or spags. Lora

Hi Mandie, A melacholy but well executed poem. Your rhyming couplets work well and the lines have a liquid flow. You have penned an uplifting end to this lovely piece. Well done! Best wishes, cheyenne

It takes a tremendous amount of courage to re-visit a traumatic event and then write about it with chosen words that come deep from within. This has captured my heart, and in a simplistic not to deep in thoughts have conveyed the merciless pain we have to endure in times of great hardships. blessings, Deni
