Limitless

What are the limits if there are no boundaries? Boredom a meaning when nothing is left. It’s reaching within when there is nothing more to give. A journey without an ending and no satisfaction. When no more words form and nothing will come forth. Freedom yet there is no one to enjoy it with. Like being in a chamber and there are no sounds.....

A touch of darkness in this poem Thomas as well as starting out with a powerful line. What are the limits? How does one measure limits on anything until tested to meet the boundary and either, stop or exceed. Very good line - and worth noting in this stark piece of writing. Enjoyed this one because of what it doesn't say - which stays with the poet in the chamber - Excellent, blessings, Deni

My goodness.. so true of existential thoughts that plague the mind through some phases of our lives. If there is no one.. no rules, no authority, no goal.. what are we then? Beautiful piece... the last line will be in my head for some time.. :)

Thomas, there is a rationale to this piece that goes beyond the main theme- or maybe that is the point. The use of “freedom” as the final example brings to light the already read passages. The use of “enjoy” specifies the parameter for each line preceding. Exhausting charity in a limit of desire without the means- following “boredom” becoming the existential resultant of “nothing left” all lead one to believe this is about personal vision and the journey. You leave us sitting in a “chamber” with no sounds – which is unlike the other issues- this would be a choice. Writers block or expediency, either way isn’t the lack of “boundaries” a good thing? It means no matter the impediment- no matter how far it is taken- one can begin again to breathe.
