Listening

In my mind I’m dancing swaying as I am washed My soul cleansed by music   In my heart I’m graceful I give precise physical expression to the sounds   Only my soul can interpret perfectly The ultimate choreographer

Hi Ken, What a joyful poem! Great title! I love the image you give us of you dancing and playing out the feeling there in your heart that the music gives you! I specificly like the idea of your soul being cleansed by music. And that your soul interprets the song. These are lovely ideas that make the reader think. The only thing that caught me up even the least little bit is just the length of line 5, but I have searched for an idea for revision and can come up with nothing that sounds as good and I enjoy the alliteration of precise/physical, soooooo I have to say, keep this piece as is! I feel your joy and am effected by it. Makes me want to dance too! Kudos! My best, Jen

Hi Ken, I am glad to stumble at your poetry once again. I am fortunate to know that the soul is the ultimate choreographer. Just realized this one and it made my own pondering. Yes, our brain could expound the physical meaning but the mystery of life is left to our soul to provide meaning. This is because God is the sole owner of our soul. Very very serious and very very vital thing to realize. Thank your very much for this realization, Ken. God bless you and your family, Jordan

Hi Kenneth, it was a pleasure to hear your music this afternoon. I love the way you have described what I am very tempted to call.."marching to your own drummer"..this is lovely...and I could sit here and picture you swaying with you music and as you say, "Only my soul can interpret perfectly The ultimate choreographer" we all dance our own path and seems such a light and happy one you are presenting here today. thanks for sharing.

Kenneth, Such wistful thoughts and awe inspiring. Your words ring true, yes, the music sets us free and our spirits know no limits to movement or interpetation. I especially like your last stanza, it is so right on. This was a pleasant gentle read for this reader, glad to see this side of you poet, and if in your heart you are---then you will be. Thank you for sharing this with us. Best always, Lora

Kenneth, Me thinks you dance of love. Love of loving God, the ultimate everything. Sometimes one can have such joy....and your poem shows just that. You are never alone or actually hopeless, because you have and are love. Love-ly poem. Dellena
