To Untangle the Tangled

Most wealth abuses human decency   secrets kept to persist disgusting       avarice hiding craven hungers. Fear, the paranoia of the guilty   twisting technology just to firm Iron fists around the throat of youth. A poet sees these things or they are   not close enough to truth to poem       A N Y T H I N G And they will find, reach to find   salvation for the good.

Additional Notes:
I will not apologize for the extremity of my statements. Look at the world we've wrought for our children. While those that call themselves established as poets seldom are moved to the most significant of astute truths. At least the truly great poets of the past have been spared this pitiful sight.

Amem to the poets that escaped this is true. Our hands are tied, bound and we have no voice to shout out in protest of what the world is doing to us. All we can do is hope for the best in our own personal lives day to day, and muddle through the rest - so many trust issues - so many people suffering for no reason - poverty at it's highest that I'm aware of - I remember hearing my parents talk about the depression era - I feel like this is the new age depression and as long as basic needs are met - we have to humble ourselves to those that have the control to change it - but won't until they are damn well pleased and ready to do it. Bless you for this post, with the truth it speaks - and the fortitude to post it. Deni

Hello JCH, You don't need to apologize for speaking the turth as you have poetically written about here. I am grateful I grew up in an era where the days of so many electronic toys were part of fiction, not reality. The youth of today can't live without these toys or at least they think they can't. Gone are the simple things of life that were so gratifying some years ago. One wonders what 50 more years will bring? The voice of the poet should be heard. Will it do any good? Only Heaven knows. Well done. Best, cheyenne

JCH, I think on these things this way: it's almost like the nature of criminal law, or legitimate warfare. As to what is in the making, I just don't know for sure. Just as I might have a child molester living next to me . . . I just don't know. Precision and truth waits for the crime to be committed, and acts justly thereafter. It cannot be otherwise, unfortunately. I am suspicious of preemptive strikes, whether by neocons or those who "see" the beast slouching toward Bethlehem. I gotta wait for the arrival in Bethlehem. Of course, it could just be a failure in information gathering on my part. Perhaps the beast can be "seen" by those with eyes to see. Then again, those "seeing" eyes have done a lot of damage in the world with their preemptive strikes - on the one hand, we have no mass weapons of destruction. The fact that the preemptive strikes of those in power are more dangerous because, well, they can realize responses to their "fears" - this is obvious, and noted. But we're dealing with poetry, truth. And a similar fallacy on the other side does not become less fallacious because less dangerous. You won't like this answer, but it's honest. In my gut I "see" the NWO slouching toward Bethlehem, and I'm opposed to the beast. I'm certainly not one poised to benefit - they work for big law firms, and are not solo practitioners like me, standing with my client and our sling shots as the behemoth moves to crush us. But I also "know myself," and how prone to deception and error I am. Maybe I have to wait until it hits me before I strike back. Yes, that may be too late, but it's what truth requires I think. My clients get screwed, and then I fight with them to try to make it right. BTW, I found nothing about the poem extreme. If your premise is right - and again, I'm prone to agree and not rejecting the premise - nothing you say could be too extreme. MSS MSS

James, no apology needed... tell it like it is. Too long too many have softened the words and look where we are now. Your poem needs to be framed and placed where every aspiring or prolithic poet can read. Too long have we pandered to the audience of "pleasing" instead of in your face this is the truth of it. We do ourselves a great injustice when we hold back the words, the thoughts in order to placate or patronize the reader... enough! You've put it where it is in your well crafted poem. You've said in enough ways that even the less erudite should be able to understand... bravo-- kudos. Lora

James, Right on! I believe as you that we can bury our heads into all the wonderful positives so much so that we live in a false reality. There is much to be said of being continually negative but the truth is sometimes/most times a bitter pill. I believe the powers that be invented the positive/negative view and theory to keep our brains not focused on the world happenings. Another mind f... [excuse me] There seems no other better explanation for it. Good statements alerting people to wake up. Unpleasant but true! Keep on you have the ability to influence many. Dellena
