AriosoRick BarnesRick, Very good work. It's nice to see another of your works. I plan on placing more of mine on the site soon. I may be e-mailing you again soon, my friend. Thanks again. I enjoy critiquing as well as receiving critiques. Good feeling in this work. It's always nice to see another man be able to express his emotions. We seem to be a rare kind. May we find wonderful, passionate women to heal our hearts!2004-11-11 12:21:50
Good-ByeDebbie SpicerDebbie, Much feeling in this one. Love is such an important subject- one which for a long time I apparently thought the only one worthy of writing about considering it was the only thing that I wrote about. I sincerely hope that your heart is okay because I know this feeling. I've known it more than once. Anyway, I'm supposed to be critiquing your poem, lol! I like the simple wording of this work and the flow of the rhyme scheme. I appreciate the honesty for poetry is all about life's experiments and being honest with ourselves as well as honest and open with others about what we think, feel, breathe, and see.2004-11-11 11:57:02
Lunar LongingJoanne M UppendahlJoanne, I really enjoy what you have portrayed here by symbolism. It is always an interesting approach to use nature to show expression of human things or perhaps rather even using human things to portray nature. Not often do I find poems that capture elements of outer space, though, and that makes this work significant. 2004-11-11 11:45:11
Edge of a LedgePrimrose MacleanI gather that you are speaking here of falling in love, but it could also mean madness or finally letting go of something. There are several possibilities and yet I am sure there is only one meaning for you. That is the one that truly counts. Whichever it means, I do say that this work is very much complete. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Good work!2004-11-02 20:48:20
Collecting the ShardsMandie J OverockerVery, very good piece, Amanda. It takes a lot to write about something like this and you are fortunate to be able to have the gift to express it so well. Congratulations on breaking free and finding happiness! The poem flows well in its entirety and the style is appropriate for the work. The title fits well with the words and ideas and draws the reader into examining the work. I look forward to viewing and critiquing more of your works on the site!2004-11-02 20:40:18
Night PacingMandie J OverockerVery well-expressed. The poem flowed throughout. I've never read anything on this subject and you've done well to portray the subject. Although I didn't initially glean that this was about a panic attack, the sense of panic and a frantic state are easy to recognize within the lines. spelling 7.1 depression2004-10-17 14:56:13
verse 61 (Birth)Erzahl Leo M. EspinoVery good, thoughtful haiku. I thoroughly enjoy haiku and I certainly commend Japan for this form. You are exactly right. The joy of a child's birth is truly a great celebration of life. I can have days where I feel so frustrated, but all it takes is a child to make me smile and usually instantly. For some reason I feel it very difficult to keep a mean, angry face on around precious children. I have no children of my own, but I certainly understand the huge importance of their lives.2004-10-14 19:15:52
ImperfectionRobert WymaVery good notions and expression of them. I don't mean notions as something only proposed. I mean ideas that ought to become realities. I have considered such ideas myself and it is good to see others sharing similar thoughts. You divided each portion of this work well and the overall flow was was good. Based upon the title, much is gained by reading this for it shows the striving for perfection out of common imperfection.2004-10-05 11:23:03
SchismRegis L ChapmanI love reading about people's experiences. A good poet will write about almost anything or maybe anything period at times and this is how we come to write of things that perhaps no one else has. It also relieves the poets' boredom with repeatedly writing about the same types of issues, feelings, etc. I used to write about nothing but love and everything had to rhyme or come close to rhyming and if it didn't, I didn't seem to think it flowed. However, some things I wrote ended up with forced lines and too much extensive thinking about how to perfect it. I see here that you have either developed an expansion in your writings by writing on various things or that you have the natural knack to write about human experience.2004-10-05 11:14:50
Flow?Ryan D AllenAh! Here are the thoughts of a poet; the questioning that all of us poets do. I have written several poems on the subject of poetry and I think it is healthy that you have written such a work as this. It does have an element of flow in it. The way a poem is read aloud or read in one's mind can affect flow also. Only a pet can grasp the point you made here or perhaps also a songwriter.2004-10-05 10:46:03
Creating and DatingMandie J OverockerI reread this a couple of times and I found that it has good ideas in it. I like how it takes you from the physical to what is behind the physical. It captures an essence of what is understood by writers, musicians, artists, and even actors. By the title, I had expected it to be about making babies and the difficulties of the dating scene, but I found something else here and I enjoyed it. 2004-09-28 20:28:04
The Bearers of VisionRick BarnesNicely expressed in a short piece. To the point, it shows humanity and it shows those who are exceptions to the rule of common things.2004-09-28 20:03:44
