Dear Latorial, It's so refreshing to see a bond formed here, within this site - as you have so aptly described in your poem. Whatever kindness was bestowed upon you, your gratitude clearly comes through in your piece on "Arnie". This poem puts a smile on the readers face - and the knowledge that it speaks from your heart to another, makes it all the more worth the words you've written. Very nicely done, Sincerely, DeniMari

Latorial, This is a great tribute to a wonderful poet. You have done him well here. I like the flow and the structure of cinquain even though the meter varies. You paint a great picture and offer a great metaphor. Thanks for posting this and sharing it with us. Mandie

Hi Latorial, What a wonderful tribute to Arnie...our loveable clown. I am certain that he is both surprised and honored that you wrote this for him. The second stanza is exceptional...'you have heard me, understood me, known me well' In spite of all the kidding around that Arnie does I believe he has heart of gold that is also softer than he would be willing to admit. I have not seen a post from you on the forum but you should get involved there. You may be reading the posts but it would be nice if you would display your picture and give us your comments, as well. Lovely tribute to a very nice guy! Blessings....Marilyn

Poet....such a tribute to Arnie..........so befitting too for anyone who has come to know Arnie has been touched by him in many ways.....I know he has helped me over and over again with my poetry, my critiquing, showing his concern for my health, his smile which one can feel across the link and miles.....structured well, word flow brings forth the feelings and emotions associated with this poem/tribute and you have brought the red nose clown to life.....thanks for posting and sharing with us who agree with you totally. God Bless, Claire

Latorial: This 'good turn' reminds me that I have many to return to others. I admire what you've written, as I agree completely that Arnie has a sweet soul which he shares unreservedly. Though sometimes sassy and curmudgeonly though he may be, underneath that is a heat of pure gold. I think that your poem addresses a basic issue (aside from Arnie's good qualities) and that is this: Above all, we want to be heard. When we write poetry, critiques, critique replies, even silly stuff on the Forum, we are listening, being listening to, and most times, valued. For the story which makes up our lives as we live them. There are poets here who have heard me in a way I never expected to be heard, ever. For this I cannot thank them enough. It is a gift to be given and received joyously. Thank for for setting a fine example of how to do this. My very best always, Joanne

Well, I am flattered. I don't pertain to be in the same league as Jesus other than religion. Your poetry touches me to the core. If only the whole world were poets! Something to think about.

Hi Latorial, Good morning! Well, it's almost good night for me but I had to respond to this light-hearted piece before curling in. A poem for Arnie Wachman - a friend and fellow tpl'er. I can't wait for the humorous response you will recieve for this one, Latorial. The poem speaks of your appreciation for Arnie's understanding of the plight of the African-american minority in America. To be honest with you, I'm really not sure how to critique this (smile). Arnie was rather upset about your generalization of whites in Chains Of Command (so I read in his response to that poem). What is so unique and unmatched with regards to TPL is the fact that we are able to have our differences and yet be a family. This poem reaffirms the strong bonds all of us share. Take Care, Duane.
