Duchess of the Sea | Paul H. Roefs | Hello Paul, I have read poems written about aquatic dreams and fantasies, but none has compared to this one! I cannot pick just one line, one stanza or one phrase that I can say is my favorite because I would have to quote you the entire piece...but I am a sucker for endings and I loved yours. My breath was taken at the same time as the writer's then magically revived again. Thank you for posting this so I could read it. Naome | 2007-10-15 16:55:44 |
Hopless Light (Rime Royal) | marilyn terwilleger | Thank you for the notes on this style of poem. It was helpful in understanding your scheme. I always like to hear of different styles of poems. When reading this, I found myself at the shores edge waiting for something/someone to return...you have created a very eloquent piece. Thanks, Naome | 2007-10-15 16:32:10 |
Meandering Dreams | Mary J Coffman | Mary, This is truly unique. I enjoyed your wordplay from one stanza to the next. I googled swanflower to learn what one looked like and your take on the delicate orchid was pleasing to the eyes and ears. Your ending was my favorite part. "of where once we laid in wildflower fields sipping nectar from moon’s silvern ladle in the velvet abyss of nocturnal bliss tumbling towards ecstasy" Thanks, Naome | 2007-10-15 16:23:19 |
Code Of The West | Paul H. Roefs | Wonderful story you penned here. I can imagine the stranger and his chestnut horse riding into town, sealing his fate. I particularly enjoyed this stanza it has character. "Cautiously stares down the wooden walkways clanging like cymbals, his spurs announce him flipping a silver dollar to a nearby livery boy to feedbag and water his careworn chestnut pal" Thanks for sharing, Naome | 2007-10-15 16:08:05 |
To Sign... | Mary J Coffman | This was very nicely written and creative. My favorite excerpt is: "I lay a crumpled love letter waiting to be spread-out and written again and again .....and again" How wonderfully entrancing your words and your spacing. The Real Me | Rene L Bennett | This was a wonderfully written poem. I love the shortness and directness of each line and the emotions seem to flow as well. Sometimes we all hide from our selves but once we put the pen in hand, the inner self comes out with a stand. I look forward to reading more of your work. quatro | 2007-10-12 17:08:39 |
Reflections | Rene L Bennett | I really liked this poem because I enjoy reading about self reflection and what we sometimes see or hide from our selves. The first stanza is my favorite and the ideas and images created are very thoughtful, however I did find it somewhat hard to move from one stanza to the next. Overall, I enjoyed this piece.
