Rene L Bennett's Profile:
If you come here thinking you're going to read alot of happy, life is great, I couldn't ask for more, then you have come to the wrong place to read. I write alot of angst and come to think of it, I always have for alot of years. I think that is why I am a writer.I have these feelings inside my mind and soul so deep it seems I just can't reach deep enough to scratch them. I have always been a deep thinker and always searching for answers to the unknown. At an early age of writting, I had alot of questions. Questions about life and it's mysteries. These past three years, since my family died at the same time, I write alot about my grief. Though I am growing in the grief process, I feel I will always have a yearning for my lost loved ones and I will always write to them the rest of my life. It is my release so I can breath again and go on with life. My writings are more of a healing process for myself. Pen and paper are my best friends and have never let me down yet. I do have 2 grown sons which I am extremely proud of. They are the only family I have now and they are my life.

Mowed OverDellena RovitoI love the smell of fresh cut grass. When I was a child, I used to love laying in the grass and watch the clouds listening to the sound of mowers. And if lucky, a plane would go across the sky every so often. But, I guess for the one mowing, yea, lol, the sweat of summer. Rene'2007-09-03 20:51:52
TRAUMA, THE REALITYDebbie SpicerWow! Your words speak for so many, especially in the earlier days of middle aged people. When we were children, it was never spoke about and if it ever was, nothing happened except make it ten fold worse on the child, both from the attacker and the person the child confided in. Yes, it is the *gift* that keeps on giving though I wouldn't consider it a gift. I enjoyed reading your words. Rene'2007-09-03 20:49:34

The MaskDonna Carter SolesHi Donna, Sometimes one can't help but wear a mask. I wear mine often as to not be emotional vunerable to those in life. However, I write my insecurities quite often sharing only with my fellow poets. So, only those who read the words I write will ever know the real me. Others live on the other side of my mask. Excellent write! Rene'2007-08-12 00:54:24
YouthJana Buck HanksLOL, I can see where you can relate this to puberty awakening...haha, however you still used alot of imagery and metaohors in this piece making it a very enjoyable read. Rene'2007-08-12 00:44:43

Living In The QuestionsNancy Ann HemsworthYou are so right, everyone lives life in the question. You never know what path life will lead you nor do you ever know what to expect in time, therefore yes, I agree, live life in the question. I love you imagery and my FAVORITE stanza is...Breathe with the Earth, let your essence flow Let your dreams take you, wherever they go Live every day, in your own special way Be true to yourself at the end of the day Go live your life in the questions..... Couldn't be more breathtaking!! I absolutly love your words here! Rene'2007-08-12 00:16:53

MAGNETIC FORCESDebbie SpicerI read this twice to get the full meaning of your words. Deep! I love deep! It's as though you struggle with your own thoughts of lonliness. I am sure we all have experienced this, some more than others and I have had my share. Nice write! Rene'2007-08-11 17:34:53
Gonemarilyn terwillegerMarilyn, Your words are beautiful, and I can feel the depth as I read. I too lost my husband in October. As a matter of fact, my husband, grandma and mother all died within a 2 week period in October. That was 6 years ago and I still miss them every day. I wrote a poem called October Rain. It is about that dreadful October when they died. My heart to yours as I wish you a gentle healing. Rene'2007-08-11 05:49:01
Pole in HandClaire H. CurrierClaire, I very much enjoyed reading this. What a memory and a great story to share. My oldest son is 29 years old and he loves to fish and really gets into it. My youngest son, 21 hates fishing and refuses to go. Me, I have been fishing alot in my life though I admit, it has been many years. I wouldn't mind going again. Again, I truly loved your memory. By the way, what ever happened to the lure? It would defiantely be a keeps sake. Rene'2007-08-11 05:44:56

The End Of TimeDellena RovitoI really liked this alot! Excellent imagery! As if it was only a nightmare to be forgotten in time, well at least until the next nightmare..lol. But a beautiful sunshine morning takes you away and the nightmare too. Thanks for the read, I truly enjoyed reading this. Rene'2007-08-11 05:28:00
love will keep us aliveMichael BirdMichael, My heart to yours. I am sorry to hear about the passing of your wife. I too, am widowed. Your poem is a wonderful tribute. I only see one error. In your second to last stanza, you have, now that your gone. It should read, now that you're gone. I always get that mixed up too, on your and you're. I know only those who have grieved the loss of a loved one truly knows just how deep grief really goes. Others can only imagine. Wishing you a gentle healing. Rene'2007-08-11 05:10:22
Family TreeKenneth R. PattonShort, but great thought process. Yes, we as humans can tend to be self centered and even have to brains to know how to do it with class. I like your thought here. Rene'2007-08-07 21:00:13
