The BossMark Steven SchefferHow very original. A poem about those dame Yankees. I like how each legend of that team gets a line or a mention within a line, the the lion's share going to the Boss, of course. Bravo 2014-09-13 13:08:29
“Daddy . . . "Mark Steven SchefferI believe there is a motif forming here. Will will have to try my hand at a train poem one day. I have read Train Stop and was inspired and now yours makes impossible not to attempt it. One Day. What I enjoyed about your take on the subject was your view of your son;s view of the train. How what we saw back in the day was but commonplace, where to your son it would magical to see one. I think this poem is the best parent/child poem I have read to date. It touches that spot that only a fellow parent could know 2014-09-02 22:07:13
Old FlameMark Steven SchefferOMG. Wow. This is as powerful as it is painful and delightful to read. There are so many ways this poem touches common ground. Not in the actual places and events, but each of them are easily substituted for events and places to each reader that will read this. A Rosetta stone for pain and passion 2014-09-02 21:46:41
QuandaryMark Steven SchefferHummm. The Bible up close and personal. I don;t believe in predestination, more like an interpretation of events. this poem is very challenging on so many levels, and a very interesting read 2014-09-02 21:40:39
Train StopJames C. HorakI think of the engineer in this poem as the heart. The mind can see the bridge is out but the heart stokes the engine. The imagery in this work is a sparkling as the children's run. Excellent write2014-09-02 21:34:32
Plotting CourseJames C. HorakSuch small poem describing a very complex tale of a relationship gone bad. Doing harm is doing harm. It has nothing to do with love. This poem is emotions in the hands of a master. Bravo 2014-09-02 21:28:55
ToweringDeniMari Z. Deni. I like the current title because it made me curious. The image of a turtle stepping through wet cement is excellent. Conveys to the reader exactly what your process must sometimes feel like. As for your new mantra, amen and solider on I do have a question about S3L5 My mantra now is to piss on what Satan tries to steal with prayers that he leaves (leave)? so my blessed heart can be well. Any way I love the poem 2014-07-25 13:52:42
Revealing AnewDeniMari Z.OMG What the hell was that but complete poetry in motion or should I say emotion. Brave on dear poet brave on 2014-07-15 00:48:12
LongingJames C. HorakShort but highly effective, in both imagery and how it can leave the reader, longing 2014-06-27 09:55:14
4:00 a.m.Mark Steven SchefferIt so remarkable how you can take a painful subject and turn it on it's ear. Thank you for the flight2014-06-20 21:22:15
Seventh Bridge To CrossDeniMari Z.I have had lost in my life so far from beyond So far from anything reasonable that my mind or heart still can not touch it I have known the lost of comfort so perfect that since she left I have felt nothing similar, or so close to the mark since then Yet somewhere in me I know that she still loves me all these miles away in all these seconds since her departure I know that Love still wins In other words I understand 2014-06-19 23:18:07
i met a geniusMark Steven SchefferI am sure he would be happy to hear that he made a difference. I would have loved to seen that shadow of an angel 2014-06-16 11:37:25
in pursuit of happinessMark Steven SchefferIf I truly believed that Gad was dead and that there was no hope, I would be crying into the darkness as well. Or is this about the death of some ones real father?2014-06-16 11:34:43
SundayMark Steven SchefferYou seem to be wielding that sword quite nicely. I don't know what more I can offer. It would be like Skywalker critiquing Yoda 2014-06-15 17:41:46
this is the end of the rainbowMark Steven SchefferThis so could easily be a song. The pain, the acceptance of love lost revealed in true poetic fashion. This poem is as original as it gets. Thank you for sharing 2014-06-15 17:37:34
King-Dumb ComeDeniMari Z.OMG That is so beautiful I think I might cry. You so get the plight of Christ. He wants all to know him not just some. But money blinds the many and a lack of money frees the few. 2014-06-12 23:52:58
Magic GlassesDeniMari Z.Very excellent writing here. I have felt your words, been that person more then once or twice in my life. What i love most about this poem is that is does not hold anything back. There is some uncomfortable truth in every line The ending neatly ties it all together and says it all Brilliant work.2014-06-01 07:40:27
I have foundTerry L KriegIts very nice to come across a poem that speaks well of ageing. That it is not all doom and gloom. Lines 11,12 and 13 really stand out for me. Excellent work through out.2014-04-27 15:31:59
Come to CamdenJames C. HorakExcellent poem. I don't travel a lot but when I have so much of what you speak about I have experienced but would have never thought to put to words. Bravo2014-04-26 11:49:36
Mark Sheffer's Excellent Collection of PoemsJames C. HorakExcellent News. Where do I get a copy?2014-04-26 11:44:27
RetortJames C. HorakYour poems never fail to challenge this reader. Interesting visuals for having said. The title of the poem is perfect. 2014-04-26 11:43:02
RequiemJames C. HorakA very original poem. The shirt and the tattered rages an excellent why to really explain your open statement Where madness sees symmetry we see only crazy 2014-04-21 10:15:31
Intowards NearingJames C. HorakThis poem could apply to any conflict any where in the world. Where war is the only true equalizer for those who feel unequal. Beautifully expressed 2014-04-21 10:08:02
Timed OutJames C. HorakA poem about the unapologetic need for greed. Not only do they take away that which gives life and lively hood their processing brings or rather rains more death. Until there is nothing, not even those who were brave enough to point out the truth. 2014-04-18 11:04:07
In Her and EveningMark Steven SchefferBeautiful imagery. The world of her is an interesting place to be regardless of the hell sometimes in her eyes. The last stanza for me is the one that stands out of the four stanzas of poetic jewellery 2014-04-18 10:57:38
The Eve of DestructionJames C. HorakA dark prophecy yet a clear telling of why this might all come into being. World events seem to be taking us that way. I enjoyed the read.Your last stanza is astounding. 2014-04-05 11:13:33
Over MountainsDeniMari Z.This is such a soft and gentle poem on the subject of faith. Highly original without the preachy feel. Thank You 2014-04-05 11:03:34
Night's HideJames C. HorakI love the poem. It reminds me of Twilight the book. Dark, mysterious, foreboding 2014-03-22 11:22:00
YearsTerry L KriegWhere does one begin and end. There is a theory in physics that says exactly what you are saying. That the movement of time is an illusion. That everything that can happen has happened and we are in this never ending loop. Your poem is a excellent representation of that very theory 2014-03-22 11:01:03
GoldJames C. HorakWow.I know that thought. That pause of being. I am this or am I that. Great work Thank you 2014-03-14 02:22:20
IncantantJames C. HorakYes it seems that some in this world don't care for anyone but them self. Looking out for number 1 is the only truth that they dare. Excellent work2014-03-02 17:41:16
Within Deep ProvenceLora SilveyLovely, gentle and oh so relaxing. Could be a modern day mantra for those looking to soothe a busy mind. 2014-03-01 11:39:56
MindlessTerry L KriegThis poem sounds like a computer in melt down mode. Highly original. I have a friend who had a one day sort of breakdown because of the insistent beep of her fax machine. Each beep sounded like "here's more work to do,here's some more work to do. She's find now but to take the day off just to regain her sanity 2014-03-01 11:36:41
Healing PrayerDeniMari Z.The pain is obvious , as is the talent for poetic verse.I enjoyed this poem because it is simple and to the point like a prayer would be. Minutes without rain is a brilliant way of expressing the non stop tears of loss. As to the purpose I would say the poem is an excellent example of turning the negative into something more beautiful 2014-03-01 11:13:05
Feeling This SeasonDeniMari Z.As well you should feel confident in your poem. It sets into motion so many images and ideas I had not considered. That because of the shorter days we have more opportunity to dream. To stay in and write. To know the absolute perfection of warmth away from her black lace 2014-02-03 21:59:40
SHOCKDebbie SpicerI am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have loss a love one to violence and some to cancer, but every loss is different and terribly the same. Your poem paints a picture so perfect it was if I were standing there observing, not knowing what to say or do, feeling helpless. That is one of this works of this poem. It not only takes there,we share all the emotions of that moment. You have taken sad circumstances and written a great poem2014-02-02 10:44:50
No Flowers On The WallDeniMari Z.Wow. First I am in a spring garden checking out the flowers, then then flowers more deeply then I am standing in heaven noticing the same thing of angels. Not a one the same. That was a very excellent poetic adventure Thank you2014-02-02 10:27:50
Worthy of SavingMandie J OverockerReads like a chant, or mantra. Very uplifting. Above all else for me this poem was an easy read. It is good to know that you are back writing and back on the TPL. I look forward to reading more of your work 2014-01-26 10:17:58
Ken at ChristmasMark Andrew HislopBeautiful. Only teenagers can sing as if they will never grow old, never know defeat, never know death. I love the line "when passage of time is all you now know" I could identify with many of the x-mas references.2014-01-26 10:10:02
FaringMark Steven SchefferOK I get that this poem is to your wife but all the time I am reading this I am thinking the return of the Christ. Great either way 2014-01-08 23:22:44
Into ItJames C. HorakYeah. Finally an attuned poet to lead us. Great poem but the last line says it all 2014-01-08 23:19:13
Tabula RasaMark Steven SchefferSo beautiful esp the last line of this work. Gabriel being about sound, the trumpet. Yet there is only silence to go with the snow. Bravo.2014-01-06 13:30:05
Oversight (Slightly Revised)Kimberly D Rowe-Van AllenI like both versions. Not because I am easy to please but that in both versions the pain comes through. If i had to say anything I would not abbreviate. I've should be I Have and I'LL should be I Will. I think there is more power there when expressed that way. 2014-01-01 14:22:36
OversightKimberly D Rowe-Van AllenThis poem reminds me of the movie Gone With The Wind. Were the central character Ret Butler is in love with a heartless women. He never notices the other woman that is deeply in love with him. How she goes through the entire story with out him truly seeing her. In this work I see the hope, feel the passion and understand the frustration. I hope one day he wake up know your love. 2014-01-01 14:17:07
The Voices in the RainMark Steven SchefferGoose bump city. I love poems that have such an effect on me. There are so many excellent lines in this work. I have attempted poems like this without to much success. Yours works on so many levels as to leave the reader wishing they had an old mumbling woman in their life to inspire such words 2014-01-01 13:51:41
FoalMark Steven SchefferWow!I would like to think we all process such a horse within us. That spirit that runs with such abandon.that its our heart that spurs her on. Yet it always seems that only our brains that hold the rains. The last two lines of this poem could be a poem within its self. Why would a place of ultimate power need a gate in the first place? 2014-01-01 13:45:22
Next Time...This Time (Slightly Revised)Kimberly D Rowe-Van AllenI should print this and place it on the wall. Read it every morning with my coffee while remembering all that I wish my new year to be. This poem is a stark statement. a moving memo of how I wish my life to be. We all deserve the sediments of this poem. Should we find the courage to make them happen. Thank you for the uplifting passages of this work2014-01-01 13:36:05
Out Walking in SnowfallMark Steven SchefferThis sounds like a coming home poem. I get the same feelings when ever I go back home and check out my old school, its play ground and all the memories that go with that. That you were the lightly sleeping child. The work could easily be a painting. 2014-01-01 13:27:58
StitchingJames C. HorakSuch an excellent poem for what happens to people. When the patches we apply to our wounds still give way. when we have left to embrace is the cold and the empty2013-12-09 13:23:53
Marilyn Terwilleger -- CheyenneLora SilveyWe that are loved are never truly gone We are recalled We are rejoiced We are remembered And is that not a true measure of a person the litmus test of there being Your poem has told volumes of a woman unknown to me But she sounds like a keeper for memories, for hopes and for dreams 2013-11-15 00:22:25
