Notices (of the non-poetry kind)James C. HorakI do believe as a country we are heading in the right direction with President Obama and yes he does have a lovely family which is down to earth....There are so many skeptic's on this subject but there always are and will be. We must open our hearts and trust in his ability to take a firm hold on situtions that were not of his creation and know that our country will once more regain its strengh in all areas and become a country of the people once more......Gordon I too would be glad to give you some credits if you need them. God Bless, Claire2009-02-05 08:36:54
Rachel's MarriageGerard A GeigerCongratulations to the Father of the Bride for sharing these beautiful images of your daughter and new son in law's very special day. One can hear the pride you hold for this very loving couple and I am certain they will treasure this forever. God Bless, Claire2009-01-26 08:35:42
My December VoteJames C. HorakAlways so nice to not only see your choices but to share in your view. God Bless, Claire2009-01-26 08:28:20
WhistleKenneth R. PattonYour right dear sir when was the last time I heard a whistle....can't remember its been that long......boys used to whistle after girls all the time and drive the sister (nuns) crazy.....Mom had a whistle to blow when she wanted us home for supper (and you best show up on time).......once in awhile you heard a strange whistle as a man was admiring beauty before him and of course there are whistles like mine that hardly make a sound......Enjoyed the word flow, the memories and the sounds presented with this one......Take care, stay warm, God Bless, Claire2009-01-14 17:40:14
The Children of GazaJames C. HorakIndeed it is so very sad from the beginning of time to the present how the world has changed.....and how it is often more then not the children of this world who suffer the most. I count my blessings each day that for now my grandchildren and great grandchildren live here in America.......though Iknow this too can change anytime.....Your words have penned so many pictures of war and yet there is always the twinkle of hope in them too. Makes you want to reach out, grab hold of a child and never let them go. I will continue to pray for peace my friend for I know our prayers reach high into the heavens every day.......We know HE listens and will respond in kind.......Thanks for the advice with Pretty Girl too. Be well, stay warm and safe, God Bless, Claire 2009-01-12 08:13:46
Child AbuseJames C. HorakLove your way with words, your presentation and your style.......this one is no exception and will make my list for the month. You have penned well my friend, you have created images that I might have laughed at and even cried at.........My dog, Pretty Girl, just woofed at me the other morning to call DSS on 'daddy' for she is tired of his putting her out when she barks too long........any suggestions......Cold day here in New England, new snowfall overnight and this morning, stay warm, God Bless, Claire Oh and I am certain the sparrow made a wonderful first flight......2009-01-11 11:47:32
My Vote for DecemberDellena RovitoNice choices Del and thanks for sharing them with all of us. Hope you are feeling well, the flu bug landed here in Tully and he is ugly for sure.......stay warm, be safe. Thinking of you God Bless, Claire2009-01-11 11:37:50
My December VotesDuane J JacksonThank you for posting your choices for the month Duane. Down under with the flu bug I am as you can tell I am slower then slow these days. It is nice to find more poets posting again and I know we all pray it continues as the year begins anew. Stay warm and healthy. God Bless, Claire2009-01-10 03:03:44
Best of FriendsRene L BennettRene you have touched my heart with this beautiful poem.......it reads superb from start to finish and yes can see your morning smile and hear your laughter which fills the air.......Certainly going to make my list for the month.......keep smilling you look wonderful. God Bless and Happy New Year, Claire2009-01-05 09:15:36
You Say You're Spiritual?!!James C. HorakHello James; your title grabbed me more then once.......brought out many memories of not only this season but other times when indeed being spiritual was so present in our heart....yet.....in all honesty it is hoped it lasted the rest of the year as well as into the New Year too.......then there was that little girl down the lane, sweet as apple pie and always in church on Sunday morning......her list of what she received just overflowed.....and I can see my head bobbing back and forth with a smile knowing she needed to talk.....So that my friend is where I ended up with this one......good penning. God Bless, Claire2008-12-27 22:05:19
DireJames C. HorakWOW James the power of your pen as it created this one....so image filled, the release of one from another.....no reason given just perhaps the time for parting is right......A moment thunders into passing.....some of those moments seem to take forever. Once more, thank you for posting and sharing. God Bless, Claire2008-12-27 06:50:24
The Bridge of Tears AgainMichael BirdAs always Michael it is nice to find you posting here at TPL. I do believe that there is yet more within that heart of yours that will burst forth again .....The Bridge of Tears Again is most fitting and very well penned. God Bless you and keep you safe, Claire2008-12-26 18:20:26
i held my breath to hearMary J CoffmanHappy Holidays to you Mary and may you find the Peace, Love and Joy of Christ within your heart every dy of the year.....What a beautiful Christmas poem you have posted, one that is so welcome and a definite one for sharring. Our Voting for Poems, Please Help..Rene L BennettHi Rene.....as far as I know you are the only one who knows how a poem 'hits' you.....how it makes you feel, if the writer has brought it to life with images, and how it might have affected you in any way......what one person sees, feels, hears, smells, touches, is different for each one of us and that also counts with poetry......what touches me might not touch you and vice versa.....so....for the end of the month contest just use your heart and you will do just fine. On a scale of one to ten I always put number one as being the best presented poem in that month. There are so many ways to judge something too......Hope this helps you in some small way.........Merry Christmas to you and all you hold dear in your heart. God Bless, Claire2008-12-20 21:16:03
Dellena's "November Vote"James C. HorakJames....Thank you for taking the extra mile with regards to Dellena's November vote. I know she is one very open and honest person and always speaks her mind and her heart when she responds to poetry whether on this site or perhaps another. I am honored to know her via TPL along with other 'friends' met over the years and yes James you are on my list of friends. No need to respond to this just want you to know you are very much appreciated for all you do. God Bless, Claire2008-12-20 20:59:33
Among the LeavesKenneth R. PattonWhat a treasure to be found.....perhaps you might improvise and do yet another poem finding the family to which these dog tags belong.......good word flow, providing many images and emotions as well. Indeed, so many have worn dog tags during their service days and after as well. I know my son who is grown and married with children of his own now has his dad's dog tags.....something to hold onto and let the memories flow. Thanks Ken for posting and sharing with us. Merry Christmas to you and yours, God Bless, Claire2008-12-17 21:21:11
Wind ChimesDellena RovitoMerry Christmas to you too Dellena.......Wind chimes surround my outside world.....all shapes and kinds. The largest of course giving off the closest music to the church about five miles from my home. So true are your words from beginning to end and one can see the angels watching over you as the music of their world begins......Thank you for sharing this inspiration with us; I pray you are warm in your part of the world though from the weather station it appears your not. We are in the middle of a black out due to ice here in New England.....two and a half days now......Bless our ancesters for they endured without what we take so often for granted...Be safe my friend, peace, love and joy along with good health follow you into the New year. Oh yes, I do believe goodness will prevail......God Bless, Claire2008-12-14 05:38:50
My November VoteJames C. HorakEnjoyed reading your choices for the month's contest....must say I agree with many of your top choices...So often one gets lost in the reading, the meaning, the value of it all.......I'm honestly looking forward to the day my sleeping muse wakes me in the middle of the night with so much jabber I'll never complain again about his snoring.....Thanks again for being such an important part of TPL .....God Bless, Claire 2008-12-09 23:15:37
November VoteDellena RovitoGreat presentation on your list for the month my friend.......Too bad you could not have added your own poem as it certainly has made the top ten......I actually enjoy reading how everyone sees poetry, how one may find it first on a list, second or third on the list, it does not matter for it is in the reading, the feelings, the gift of the writer to each one of us and as we all know life is most difficult at times, when we find something solid to associate with I say go with it....Atually it is nice to see TPL heading into the New Year....thanks to you and so many other poets on the site. For me, I enjoy the readings, the responding, the feelings and emotions associated with the site. God Bless, Claire2008-12-09 23:09:51
My November VoteDuane J JacksonGood morning Duane....another fruitful month here at TPL and the winner's list certainly refleted the talent and growth of the poets here. Thank you for posting, sharing and critiquing. God Bless, Claire2008-12-08 08:45:48
Terry's Latest SubmissionJames C. HorakWe have all hit that 'evil' button at one time or another yet here you are giving credit where credit is due. Nice to have you within the poets of the link......take good care and stay warm in the cold weather ahead. God Bless, Claire 2008-12-05 17:00:26
The Society of PoetsJames C. HorakNicely stated James......it is always nice to give praises for a magnificent achievement. 2008-12-05 16:57:10
OverlookedKenneth R. PattonI am sure there is a double meaning to the pink elephant for as a child he usually brought a smile to our face and perhaps a touch of joy to our hearts. Yet, he is also referred to perhaps as a monster when we grow up and our situations change. Still, your pen has presented a good reference to both the good and the bad. Just remember he was not always a monster and he can become a friend again.......just my take on it all. God has blessed you in so many ways.......Claire2008-12-05 16:55:02
Can't Be Ripped AwayDeniMari Z.No need to use up credits my friend.......you are a very good poet and we always look forward to finding yor work posted here on the link. I do hope and pray the New Year finds you still with us and that your heart will find peace over this past year. God Bless, Claire 2008-12-05 16:48:56
My October VoteJames C. HorakMust agree with your choices my friend.......actually it is nice to see how one votes at the end of the month and perhaps see how close our own choices are with theirs. I do have my favorite poets to read and I always try to read some of everyone's submitted. Indeed the poem should always stand on its own merit..... God Bless, Claire2008-12-05 16:46:34
Autumn TambourinesDeniMari Z.Old post perhaps yet well worth the reposting......the title Autumn Tamborines and the opening stanza certainly do bring this piece to life......the second stanza just continues to add to the read, the images are beautiful and the feelings complete....nice closing as well. I live in the woods and there is so much to listen to, to hear as the wind does dance through the trees.....soon winter snowfall will blanket our region and more animals will come out of the dark seeking food to eat......nice poem....God Bless, Claire2008-12-05 00:04:00
My October VoteDellena RovitoHi Del.....always find postings interesting and this post of poetry for the months contest really is a good thing. Let us hope the link will continue into the New Year thus allowing our circle of 'friends' to grow as well.........Merry Christmas to a very special LADY.....God Bless, Claire2008-12-04 23:58:22

Sweet Symphony of Eternal BlissDeniMari Z.Beautifully penned, filled with such love from your heart which is breaking even as you wrote this...... Like the feather that you have found, gives me the feeling of angels .....Heaven's eternal bliss is beautifully stated as well. Though at many times I refer to Heavenly's green garden.... for what better a place to be whole and free once more......thanks for posting, always nice to find your work. This is a must for the poetry contest this month. God Bless, Claire2008-12-04 23:38:55
P O P C O R NDellena Rovitolove how you have put the popping of corn together with the creation of poetry....certainly does the deed as you have penned. I can actually smell the fresh popped corn and still see myself lying in bed hearing all those words popping out at me so I have to find pen and paper to mark it all down. So this old gal does not forget.......you are so very clever my friend. Prayers flow your way for renewed health and strength.....enjoy the coming holidays.......we all have so much to be thankful for even in todays' economy. God Bless, Claire2008-11-24 08:28:06
My Birthday WishRene L BennettHi Rene.....I too wish you peace, love and joy.....the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as you celebrate your Birthday.......memories are great to keep in the lining of our hearts, boxes with cards from those we love help bring them to feel again. Your pen certainly has open the gate to an enormous assortment of feelings....the sadness is also felt within. Put away the madness you speak of......smile at the world.....you are loved by many......I know we all look forward to finding your work on the link.......and again, a very Happy Birthday......God Bless, Claire2008-11-24 08:24:01
My October VotesDuane J JacksonI must say your choices for the contest this month reflect my own thoughts.....I am rather pleased that jch and mark began posting for public view their thoughs on the presentations. Looking forward to what November has in store as well. Thanks for being a part of the link, God Bless, Claire 2008-11-08 19:40:46
MOUNTAIN OF OBSTACLESMark D. Kilburnwell penned my friend, words create many images, roads of life , some we attempt to over come others we might just let pass us by. The flow of your words hold the reader close.......I liked the closing as it gives one a look at what and how you accomplished life so far.......perhaps you have many more mountains to climb and just remember God is always by your side. God Bless, Claire2008-11-05 08:18:06
If I Had KnownRene L BennettFilled with emotions, and images of another lifetime....someone you dearly loved and perhaps still hold in the lining of your heart. Your words flow life into the meaning....of love....Your look, your smell, your sweet taste not one "I love you" would we waste.....this must have been a most difficult piece to write and I thank you for posting and sharing with us.....it makes one feel blessed with the life they do have.....I am sorry about your loss. God Bless, Claire 2008-11-01 14:58:46
You Are Not HimRene L BennettWhoever he is I am sorry that he is not the one beside you......the pain of his not being there is felt deeply within the lines as one reads on.....though I do believe at one time perhaps there was a deeper connection with the two of you though obstacles have been put in the way....his eyes appear to be saying alot to you ......eyes darkened with gray.....cold beating heart ......making you feel the way you do. Perhaps you will write one more poem that connects to this one...I do believe it has possibilities to follow. Thanks for posting, be safe, God Bless, Claire 2008-11-01 14:52:48
Yesterday's Tomorrowmarilyn terwillegerHi poet.....Interesting title, Yesterday's Tomorrow.......seems no matter how hard I try I can never find tomorrow for it is always today.....memories of the soul.....what would be do without those memories we hold so dear to our heart......the opening stanza has many thoughts and images which are carried though the poem...having loved so much and having lost as well, my heart aches for the times my own dreams bring back yesterday.......interesting path to take.....enjoyed the read, and as always look forward to more of your work for you certainly have a gift well worth sharring. God Bless, Claire2008-10-23 23:06:45
Lost Among the BranchesKenneth R. PattonHi poet.....should feel good for it reads great, filled with images if the season, the leaves that cover the ground, in need of raking, yet...more to follow....love the image of the critters busy at work, getting their winter space ready filled with supplies.....acorns falling, the sounds of them as they hit th deck and ground and yes perhaps once in awhile you or me.....as we stand and watch lost among those brances.....I'm envious for my muse fell asleep and refuses to wake up......looking forward to more of your work. By the way, thank you ever so much for the copy of grampa's book that you published.......what an honor......hope you are well and that life is treating you well. Take care, God Bless, Claire2008-10-23 22:58:16
PrismDeniMari Z.Beautifully penned poet and filled with so many images, feelings, a song like sound to the read....interesting and one for the winners circle.......the changes in the seasons are reflected within as are the changes in our journey through life.....no day is or should ever be the same as the one before it.....we need to find more beauty in God's creation and keep it going strong.......as one hour changes so do many things; and yet, in the blink of an eye it could all be gone......you are so very talented my friend, enjoyed this read, how you wrapped it all together with just the right amount of flair......thanks again and God Bless, Claire2008-10-19 00:10:23
PARTING SHEELA VASANTA EVENIfirst of all welcome to the link and thank you for posting....Parting...from the very beginning it brought memories forth of this man I once knew ....how his walking into a room would bring a smile upon my face and light my heart and yes, not once did we ever go out. interesting how some cross our paths, perhaps we long for more but are always satisfied with waiting to see.....enjoyed the presentation of your poem, the word flow, the images ....would not change a thing. God Bless, Claire2008-10-16 09:36:49
Days of WinterDellena RovitoAnother image filled poem from your pen.......I hear winter is supposed to be long and very cold this year....there is a nice easy flowing rhyme to your words and one can feel the boldness of the season as it approaches. I've been told we could see snow flakes this weekend but I do believe that was just to frighten me....well, it worked.......hope you are warm my friend and as always I look forward to your work......God Bless, Claire2008-10-16 03:22:16
He Loved the Huntmarilyn terwillegerBeautifully penned, words to touch the heart and bring memories to life not only for you but for others too. In early fall the season for hunting begins, and the darkness of night is still rattled by those who have made ready their most treasured rifles, ammo is secure, perhaps a thermos of hot coffee sits on the counter along with a little lunch to hold one over till day is done and hunt complete....oh, I do remember those days well my friend, and I can not only see your memories I join mine with them.......a beautiful read, thank you for posting and for bringing my memories to morning light. God Bless, Claire2008-10-13 04:33:26
Between LinesJames C. Horaknot so sure abot this being in your anti romantic period my friend.....seems to me it is full of emotions where the heart is concerned.....and your words keep the flow of images coming..... When all I wanted...to smell, taste, charge you with wanting me for a while. Why would you want to wrestle toes for cover more than me? good from beginning to end and would not change a thing. Thanks for posting, God Bless, Claire 2008-10-09 23:42:35
A Rosemarilyn terwillegerYou are so very talented with your pen my friend......A Terza Rima sonnet....so well done. each line, each word brought forth the images you created, one felt his pain and despair and at the same time one felt the beauty he felt within the rose he picked.....my muse could never have written with such flair and beauty. God Bless and thank you for sharing your God given talents.....Claire2008-10-09 11:02:59
The Navajos of William Randolph HearstJames C. HorakInteresting read, words well penned filled with images as your work always provides for the reader. Enjoyed .... a phase three blanket with indigo blue, a spider woman's eye Making ochre red come alive...well done my friend, no suggestions from Tully for this stands quite well on its own. God Bless, Claire2008-10-08 07:38:12
My September VoteDellena RovitoSo many are now posting their choices for the month which I might add also helps me to know my own choices are right there with the rest. Hope you are well, congratulations on your winning status, always look for something from your pen......God Bless, Claire2008-10-08 07:27:40
My September VoteJames C. HorakThanks for posting your choices for the month and yes there were some pretty close choices. looking forward to the new month's entries. God Bless, Claire2008-10-08 07:21:07
ImagesThomas H. SmihulaThe images we create with the life that we have lived are a master piece in itself.......the memories alone that we leave behind of who we were, what we might have enjoyed while here, our hopes and our dreams do blend in with those we have in our life....when I think of my mom who was with us for 92 years my thoughts wander to a collage of images created with love by her granddaughter's hand before mom passed and earned her angel wings.....none have the resources to know when this journey of life will end yet I do not believe in rushing it along just to make sure the canvas is complete. Each day is a new beginning with whatever life has to hold for us......each day each breath brings forth new life......enjoyed the read poet, the images presented as one allowed memories to take hold. My dad has been gone for forty six years now and his memory is still alive within all our hearts. I find it hard to imagine your tapestry being complete at this time poet for I am sure there are many roads you have not even touched along the way. Looking forward to more of your work, be well, God Bless, Claire 2008-10-01 12:32:26
Mothermarilyn terwillegerThe memories of our youth, a mother taking care of her family, the good and the bad that always went side by side, yet here you are at the end of yet another road, packing away the memories you held dear growing up. The home no longer the same as the heart of that home is now missing, perhaps never to return in this lifetime, yet.......you know in your heart that she is watching over you and that means alot in so many different ways. It is often sad to have to pack up and store or give away as some often do the many years of life shared between mother/daughter/mother/son, a friend, a father.....whatever the situation it is never easy to do. You have penned your feelings well, the words presented have indeed brought many images to my mind, and memories of my own from 92 years with my mom.....it does sadden me though that memories lay heavy in your heart for those lost smiles you never saw on her face.......thanks for posting this most difficult one......God Bless, Claire2008-10-01 11:21:26
The Promise of SunDellena RovitoA delightful title poet, one that brings forth the magic of the sun as it rises in the morning light.......enjoyed the butterfly effect expanding spirit's fancy and the crocheting lace to place, beautifying everything in all of its existence..........Earth 'a star from afar'......well done my friend....making my list for the month for sure.......God Bless, Claire2008-09-19 07:28:40
Blue Suits and BiblesJames C. Horakyou certainly penned this one to come to life before one's eyes......Blue Suits and Bibles....interesting , reminds me of just the other day when a salesman stopped by to chat......sometimes Auntie was a better salesperson.....but then she did have the gift of gab.......thanks for posting and sharing, God Bless, Claire 2008-09-19 02:16:05
